Disney: Mickey's Typing Adventure App Reviews

The narrator (the little bearded fellow in the third picture) promised that, when leaving the typing adventure, progress would be saved. I hate to call him out, but when I exited the adventure and the software, then returned the following day, my user name and game progress had vanished. I havent had to leave a video game running to save my progress since the days of regular Nintendo. Must fix this issue. If it helps, Im on version OS X 10.8.2

Ive tried just about every typing software out there. Some are fun but the learning element is mediocre. The reverse is true for others. Id say this is the best balance Ive seen. Who doesnt like Mickey and Disney characters? When my kids "play" this they love the animated story and cant stop because they want to see what happens next in the adventure. Before long they are learning how to type. They especially love the typing games. I was quite impressed with this product and the results from my kids in such a short time and Im not easily impressed. I wish I had this when I was a kid. Another reviewer said your progress is not saved but Ive never had a problem with this and I have 3 users in my family (12 yrs, 6 yrs, and myself). I have other software from this company and I know their tech support is helpful so maybe that reviewer should contact them.

As an elementary teacher I am always interested in finding new and engaging ways to teach my students. Typing is an essential skill for students to learn, now at an earlier age with so much technology surrounding the learning process. Im impressed with the education behind this highly entertaining and fun typing tutor. My own children (ages 6 and 8) are crazy about this program - and learning to type correctly. Im hoping there is a classroom version I can use with my 4th grade students.

I just bought that typing software for my 9 year old. He loves it! Games are fun. They can be easy at first but they can be challenging too. There are enough settings/levels and typing plans to last for a long time as you get better. Personally, I like the story/adventure based approach to it. With the Disney characters involved and a great theme, the story is fun to follow and I think it motivated my son to go forward to see whats next. To go to next With all the nice animations, my 3 year old is really interested too. Obviously, he is a little young to play and be very accurrate but he likes to see the games and the scenes with Mickey, Pluto, Goofy, Donald, Mini and Daisy, etc Very visually appealling for kids. I really recommend this product, it met my expectations and more! But the real test was my kids and they love it so it must be good!

Ive never gotten the application to load. the developer web site "Submit a tech request" form gives a server error on submit. - MBP 17 late 2011, 16Gb i7. Mountain Lion

Downloaded this with no problems on my son’s Mac. We watched the game intro movie and he couldn’t wait to get started. That was a couple days ago. He has reached the mine with Goofy and loves it. I appreciate the clever design of the game as he is learning to type correctly and increasing his speed and accuracy as he progresses – now up to 25 words per minute. The last results screen show him at 86% accuracy. He can try other game plans this summer and get even better at the keyboard before he starts middle school in the fall.

I am a teenager and I bought this product to brush up on my typing skills. I really enjoyed it and improved my typing by 20 wpm!! The characters are adorable and all the activities and games were extremely fun and beneficial. By the time I reached the palace at the end of the game I was at 70 wpm!This product would be great for any age learning to type and really gets you into the disney spirit.

We are long time vacation club members, so I expect only the best from Disney. I cant get this app to download, so I can say I am very dissapointed I paid $15 for something I cant even download.

My daughter loves this game, and then got stuck by a completely crashed black screen at the cottage level. Tears, etc… wanted much more out of this game .

I want my two boys (9 and 11) to learn to type. I figure this is a good time to start a program they can use all summer. They love the animations and the typing program is really good. It is already helping my 9 year old! He uses another program at school but he prefers this one. The 11 year old is even enjoying using it. He doesnt find it too babyish. Games are fun but also are teaching them to type. I actually like using it as well. My typing has even improved. The instructions are clear and the navigation is easy. I would and have whole-heartedly recommend this to my friends and family. Its well worth the money!

This is a great typing game! Ive been trying to get my daughter to practice her typing for two years now. Could not get her interested. She loves Disney so I thought I would try this one out. She loved it!!! She spent twenty minutes the first night (she is not a big video game player so that was huge). However, the second night we had a problem with program. It froze up and we couldnt get it to work, I went back and looked at the reviews and saw I had the same problem a few others had and in the same spot of the game so I emailed the company late that night. They responded before noon the next day and gave me the solution. It works perfectly now and I am a very happy customer. Thank you!!!

Its a really cool game… until the cottage level and the dreaded black screen that I was so hoping would have been fixed. Oh well… Maybe it will work later on. The kids are disappointed now.

It was a good program for my children for two weeks and then my daughter hit the cottage level and a black screen that cant go any further. It is crazy to pay this price for 2 weeks worth of use. Unfortunately, i had just purchased it for my son as well. Unacceptable

I purchased this for my 8 year old daughter who was very excited to get started and learn to type. The program worked for about 10 minutes until the cottage level where the screen goes black, locks up and you are unable to continue. Many other users also had the same issue. Would have expected more from Disney, especially for the price. If this issue is fixed it would be a great program. However, every time my daughter gets on a roll the screen goes blank/black and shes unable to continue her lesson. So I can not recommend this program! There must be another typing program for kids out there that works when they want it to.

After getting through the first typing lesson with letters g h, the screen goes black. Can still hear background music, but there is nothing to see as the screen is black. Can exit out of the game and do the first part of the lesson again, but cannot continue with the next part as the screen for the app goes black again.

Kids start using computers at such an early age, these days. I wanted my 3 kids - ages 5, 6 1/2 & 8 - to have the advantage of typing with proper form and not just using their index fingers. The challenge for me was to find the right method of training that would keep them interested while they learned to type. This app was a great choice. My kids are having so much fun typing through the games - they love all the Disney characters. Ive even changed the skill level and tried it out myself - really fun!

We’ve been using this typing program for a few months now and it is absolutely wonderful! I really like the animation and games, but the best part for me is that the program is flexible. I started out my 8 year old on the regular program and quickly discovered that while she was good at the home keys, she wasn’t ready for the top or bottom row. The program allowed me to go back and reprogram it, so that she is only working on the home row throughout the entire game. Love that feature! Unlike other typing programs that throw the kids into the other levels too quickly, this one allows them to work at their own pace with success. Mickey is a HIT in our family!

Ive been trying to teach my kids to type for a year now with little success. I have twin nine year old boys, who are sweet and full of energy. This is the first program that has worked for our family. Its worth every penny. It makes it so easy for us to stick to learning to type, and lets me go back and reprogram if it one of the kids needs to review a row. The game lets you select a typing plan and then tracks your progress. I love that it allows 5 users, my husband and I have improved our typing skills too! My kids and I like to compete practicing Disney stories. This is the perfect app for anyone who wants their kids to love learning to type.
